There
are other credit reporting agencies that can do supply
credit information about you, but their input is usually
reflected within the three major credit bureaus.
The credit scoring scale has an upper middle and lower
scoring range. The top score possible is 900, yet scores
as high as 730 are considered excellent. The mid range
and national average is in the high to mid 600 range.
Below 600 is considered poor and will cause for interest
rates on borrowed money to be assessed higher on your
credit purchases. |

While
your credit report and scoring is very important to you,
checking it too often can actually deduct points away
from the score itself.
Even without making any new credit transactions, simply
accessing or inquiring about your credit report score
reduces the credit score. This sounds a bit unfair, but
it's true and you should be careful not to access your
credit report too often.
You can access your credit reports for free by
contacting the credit bureaus directly.
